The first LNG buses in Poland

Home pageNewsThe first LNG buses in Poland

Two Solcity 12 LNG-propelled buses are in use in the city of Wałbrzych in the south of Poland since October 2010. The vehicles look exactly like the models fitted with the diesel engines. However in the engine compartment, you will find the Cummins ISB6.7EV unit and cryogenic tank containing liquid natural gas – LNG.

The LNG technology ensures the best energy to the fuel tank’s size ratio. Another benefits of LNG buses for the fleet operators are the short refueling time - less than 10 minutes and the range of 500 km. The use of such clean energy source, as LNG, which does not contain carbon dioxide, nitrogen, propane-butane, helium and moisture, results in truly environmentally friendly vehicle.
